WHAT CAUSES BLISTERS?
Blisters are the result of rubbing which produces heat. The heat separates the layers of skin and fluid develops between the separated layers. This fluid-filled pocket is the blister. Check out our knowledge section for more information on blisters.
HOW TO PREVENT BLISTERS
Identify and eliminate any poorly fitting gear or footwear. Socks, boots, gear or shoes that are too tight or too loose can cause friction areas that lead to blisters. Once properly fit, you must eliminate localized friction and heat buildup (using BlisterShield) as well as faulty technique.
HOW DOES BLISTERSHIELD WORK?
BlisterShield creates a frictionless moisture barrier on your skin leaving it dry and blister free. BlisterShield allows sweat to escape and prevents moisture from penetrating the barrier.
HOW DO I USE BLISTERSHIELD?
Put 1 teaspoon of BlisterShield into socks, shoes or gloves before any activity. Shake shoe, glove or sock to eliminate any clumps that may have formed. BlisterShield is designed for external use only.
CAN I USE BLISTERSHIELD TO TREAY BLISTERS?
No. BlisterShield is formulated to prevent blisters. If it was not used before the activity and a blister developed, treat the condition as suggested by your physician. To learn more tips for treatments, check out our Knowledge section.
CAN I USE BLISTERSHIELD ON OPEN WOUNDS?
No. BlisterShield works to prevent blisters. Although it is a very safe product, it should be used on closed, healthy skin. If the skin has such conditions as cracks, open blisters, athlete’s foot, rash or any others be sure those problems are cured before applying BlisterShield.
WILL BLISTERSHIELD IMPROVE GENERAL FOOT COMFORT?
Itching, tired feet are often caused by excess friction and heat buildup in the shoe or boot. BlisterShield prevents friction. When the foot moves in a friction-reduced environment it moves more efficiently. Less energy is expended during any activity reducing fatigue.
HOW OFTEN CAN I USE BLISTERSHIELD?
BlisterShield can be safely used every day, but it will make your feet “softer”. If the end goal is to not have “softer” feet, then use daily wouldn’t be recommended.
HOW DO I REMOVE BLISTERSHIELD?
BlisterShield can be easily removed with hand wipes (ex. baby wipes) or soap and water.
CAN I USE BLISTERSHIELD WITH SPORTSHIELD?
ABSOLUTELY! We recommend using SportShield first on your foot or hand to make direct contact with those problem areas. Then adding BlisterShield to your sock, shoe or glove as a second layer of protection making sure you are covered on any new friction areas that may occur.
HOW DO I TRAVEL WITH BLISTERSHIELD?
We recommend purchasing BlisterShield single use packets (buy now). If this is not possible, please place product in a plastic bag (Ziploc). Always check with your airline for travel restrictions.
