GU Roctane Energy Gels: COLD BREW COFFEE Flavour
GU Roctane Cold Brew Coffe gel delivers the bitter yet smooth taste you expect from a refreshing cup of cold brew coffee. Packed with 70mg of caffeine (double the amount compared to other caffeinated ROCTANE Energy Gels), Cold Brew Coffee is enough to get you out the door, even if you’ve hit snooze one too many times.
Created for demanding training and competition, GU Roctane Energy Gel stands out from original GU Energy Gel with more sodium, an electrolyte that aids in hydration, and even more branched-chain amino acids (leucine, valine, and isoleucine) that reduce mental fatigue and decrease muscle damage than our original GU Energy Gel. The amino acid beta-alanine helps promote formation of the intramuscular buffer carnosine, while ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate helps promote muscle repair. The 100-calorie packets contain carbohydrates (maltodextrin and fructose) that use non-competing pathways to help maximize carbohydrate absorption and utilization while diminishing stomach distress.

WHEN SHOULD I USE GU ROCTANE GELS?
GU Roctane Energy Gel was designed to help provide nutritional support for prolonged exercise. Therefore, you will find Roctane Energy Gel especially beneficial during exercise which will require extra recovery time, and where you need help with preventing fatigue, increasing concentration, focus, and decreasing perceived effort. So when you are going big – use Roctane Energy Gel. During a more typical workout where you looking mainly for good tasting, easy to consume calories with added electrolytes – use original GU Energy Gel.
HOW WILL THE ADDED AMINO ACIDS AND ELECTROLYTES IN GU ROCTANE GELS HELP ME?
Roctane contains more sodium than the original GU Energy Gel. Sodium is the main electrolyte lost in sweat, and supplementation with sodium can help prevent cramping as well as minimize the chances of hyponatremia (low blood sodium from drinking too much plain water). The amino acids in Roctane Energy Gel serve several important functions, including acting as a fuel source for working muscle, and helping promote muscle recovery following exercise. Importantly, the amino acids in Roctane Energy Gel are branched chain amino acids that have been shown to help prevent central fatigue by competing with tryptophan for transport across the blood brain barrier. So the electrolytes and amino acids in Roctane gel can help increase performance above and beyond what is possible with the original GU Energy Gel alone.
HOW DO I USE IT?
Roctane Gels should be consumed 15 minutes before activity and then every 45 minutes throughout the duration of activity. Hydrate along the way.

For optimum results, always drink at least 24-30 ounces of fluid per hour during training and racing. Exact GU intake depends on the intensity of your pursuit and your body weight and fitness level. The fitter you are and the more efficient your metabolism, the more GU you can eat each hour, up to approximately 340 calories every 60 minutes.
Combine GU with Roctane Ultra Endurance Gel, GU Electrolyte Brew and GU Recovery Brew for the ultimate in sports hydration, fueling and recovery. Take one gel 15 minutes before training or competition and then one gel every 30-45 minutes during exercise.
