Excellent product, I just can’t find them anymore.  Fortunately, I can still wear the four pair that I’ve had for many years.  I don’t understand why all running shorts don’t come with such pockets.  Raceready shorts are the only shorts I wear when walking and running.

Great product and very prompt delivery, however, the mark up on the US$ price is significant and you should at least offer a free delivery option.

I was looking for a way to carry 5-6 gels plus energy bars with me for longer runs.  These shorts looked like the perfect solution.  My Asics shorts have just one small pocket at the back.  However, the RaceReady shorts are not the answer I was hoping for.  The gel pockets are not really long enough for a standard gel tube.  The larger pocket at the back is too wide with just a small piece of velcro to close it - very difficult to fasten if you are running.  The side pockets are too small.  But worst of all, I ran on the spot with 4 gels and 2 energy bars in the pockets and the shorts just slid down under the weight of the contents.  The elastic is weak and you would have to ties the draw string really tight to overcome that.  So I am sticking to the Asics shorts - much better quality - and have bought a running pack / bladder with lots of pockets instead.

I've had issues with these shorts after wearing them for a year.

Firstly, the inner lining chafes terribly for any long run. The material on the groin is very coarse and rubs through underwear quite badly for me. I had to cut out the lining.

Secondly, the stitching around the velcro pockets has come undone on both sides. I have used a few safety pins to hold the pockets together (I'm not skilled with a needle and thread, which would have been a better fix).

Thirdly, the pocket on the back is held closed by a very small round piece of velcro (smaller than a penny coin). The velcro is therefore difficult to fasten when wearing the shorts (feels like trying to pin the tail on the donkey). I got round this by cutting the pocket off as I couldn't use it easily.

That said, I like the open mesh side pockets - very handy for keys, cards, small phones and gels etc. Also, the material for the outside of the shorts is really light and comfy.
