A great shoe and my third pair of Hoka's. I've got the Cliftons which are a road shoe, and the Challenger ATR's are the trail equivalent so buying them was a no brainer as they were bound to be good. I wore them straight out the box for a 4 mile road run, and then the next day for a 22 mile sand dunes and trail run and they were great, and comfortable straight away, no rubbing, blisters, black toe or anything you might expect on a long first run in a pair of new shoes. If they are good enough for Sage Cannaday to win the North Face Endurance 50 against stiff competition then they are good enough for us mere mortals.
