Hoka first impressions June 26, 2018 Reviewer: Rhodri Phillip from Epsom, Surrey United Kingdom   The challenger doesn't look as 'special' as some Hoya shoes. Very light and comfy straight out of the box. Extra insole set included so you can vary the fit - slim,normal or combo. Nice colour and decent looking sole. Done a few runs and feel great. No feeling of unsteadiness and my run covers sand, mud, gravel, grass and road, up and down slopes. Light feeling yet good cushioning without wallowing. Supportive last for me anyway. Very happy. Like running on pillows February 7, 2016 Reviewer: matt morgan from Coventry, west Midlands United Kingdom   Was never sure about the Hoka brand with their oversized soles but so glad I tried them it's like running on pillows after other brands. After completing the Gower 50 my feet were a mess, could feel bump for weeks, brought the ATR's and ran up and down the Malverns to test and I was very surprised how good they are, soak up the bumps a treat. Perfect Summer Trail Shoes August 23, 2015 Reviewer: jon hillyer from milton keynes, buckinghamshire United Kingdom   Extremely comfortable and perfect for hard trails. I suspect they don't have the necessary grip for winter mud races, but so far they have been excellent. I'm looking forward to using them in September in Snowdonia for Man Vs Mountain. Great shoe straight out the box. May 28, 2015 Reviewer: Les Jackson from Southport, Lancashire United Kingdom   A great shoe and my third pair of Hoka's. I've got the Cliftons which are a road shoe, and the Challenger ATR's are the trail equivalent so buying them was a no brainer as they were bound to be good. I wore them straight out the box for a 4 mile road run, and then the next day for a 22 mile sand dunes and trail run and they were great, and comfortable straight away, no rubbing, blisters, black toe or anything you might expect on a long first run in a pair of new shoes.If they are good enough for Sage Cannaday to win the North Face Endurance 50 against stiff competition then they are good enough for us mere mortals.
