I really like these shoes for trail running. They are comfortable and I find the traction fine for the 'non-technical' trails that I typically run...forestry tracks and tow-paths mainly. After reading reviews and looking into the technology, I had very high expectations about the cushioning...the reality is that I don't find the cushioning noticeably better than other trails shoes I have been using with much lower stack heights and denser cushioning. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I honestly haven't found a big difference. That said, I am really enjoying using the Hoka Challenger ATR 2 and will certainly consider other Hoka models in future.
