Excellent all round trail shoe August 14, 2018 Reviewer: Lee Bennett from Wylam, Northumberland United Kingdom   I have done over 100 mixed terrain miles in these now and I've not been disappointed. I originally purchased the Speed Instinct to offer a bit of under foot protection following an injury and the extra cushioning has been invaluable, whilst not compromising on responsiveness. They've coped well with typical summer trail conditions; dry hard pack, stone chips, short muddy sections and road terrain. Not really aggressive enough for sketchy downhill running, but a good choice for day to day training and drier race conditions. Was this review helpful to you?

Minimalist (at least for a Hoka) July 14, 2018 Reviewer: Mark Lonnen from Glendevon, Scotland.   I generally run in Inov8 shoes and although I've tried other brands I've not found anything that fits or feels as comfortable and well planted.  I've run a couple of Ultras in Inov8 Roclites but really wanted something with a touch more cushioning - the Hoka Speed Instinct fits well, grips well (on hard trails) and is very comfortable without feeling too tall.  I still love my Inov8 shoes, but I'll be wearing the Hoka's for my next Ultra...
