Men's Salomon Waterproof Jacket : BONATTI RACE WP

Salomon's lightest weight waterproof running jacket, the BONATTI RACE is designed to meet the demands and compulsory requirements for ultra races. With AdvancedSkin Dry fabric, a hood and fully taped seams it delivers 10K / 10K waterproofness and breathable protection. Pockets and extra features have been removed, to make the Bonatti Race as light and packable as possible. Weighing just 160 grams, this minimalist waterproof packs small enough to fit in the palm of the hand. Everything you need, and nothing you don't. Bonatti Race Pant also available.

The 2.5 layer 10K/10K Bonatti (with pocket & other features) and Bonatti Pro 20K/20K jackets are also available.

Super lightweight, and the fit is excellent. Glad I went for the medium, not the small. I tend to wear small for base layer products which are quite stretchy, but the Medium will fit over a thin mid layer, which makes it more versatile. I have a 37-38 inch chest and I'm 174 cm tall. There's no pocket on this Race model, so you just have to fold it into the hood. The standard one with a pocket that you can pack it into might therefore be more compact in your bag. Not used it in anger yet, but very happy with it so far.

Good rain jacket, very compact	November 8, 2020

I was impressed with the quality of the rain jacket. The seams are immaculate and the material feels very sturdy. The zipper can be a bit fiddly to open / close, but then it is a very compact jacket. I have been in a few proper downpours with this jacket and have stayed dry. Clearly this jacket is intended to cover the eventuality of rain in a race event rather than the intent to run in rain for a very long time. To anyone looking for a compact rain jacket for an upcoming race, I can say that I would purchase this jacket again.

I worn the jacket the other day for the one and only time.
The jacket is marketed as breathable. It certainly is not. In fact it was so bad that during a 25 minute run in overcast and cool conditions (10 Celsius) sweet began to pool in the sleeves. When I took the jacket off the sweet poured out of it.
Not very good for a supposedly breathable, quality race jacket.
I have contacted the store and and currently waiting for a response.
